Electrophysiology Studies

Electrophysiology Lab Team Photo

The Holy Cross Jim Moran Heart and Vascular Center offers a full-service electrophysiology laboratory, providing comprehensive ablation services (treatments) for patients suffering from supraventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, typical and atypical atrial flutter or ventricular tachycardia. We utilize both radiofrequency ablation equipment and cryocatheters.

Holy Cross operates two full-time dedicated electrophysiology suites with an anteroom for visiting guests/physicians.

Procedures

We perform all standard device implantations, such as pacemakers, implantable cardiac defibrillators, biventricular defibrillators, loop monitors and device extractions. Our device extractions are performed in an operating room environment by well-trained cardiothoracic surgeons who have mastered the art of extraction and are well-trained to handle any potential complications.

Research Clinical Trials

The Jim Moran Heart and Vascular Research Institute at Holy Cross Hospital is a cardiovascular research center specializing in cutting-edge clinical trials for the diagnosis and treatment of heart, coronary artery and vascular disease; atrial fibrillation and more. Our advanced scientific and clinical research agenda enables Holy Cross Hospital and its physicians to offer patients access to advanced clinical therapies that would otherwise not be available in Fort Lauderdale, South Florida and beyond. For a list of ongoing clinical trials, visit the Jim Moran Heart and Vascular Research Institute website.
