Detecting Heart Disease Before Symptoms Start with Cardiac CT

Detecting Heart Disease: Cardiac CT v. Stress Testing

We can help you stop a heart attack before it happens

Fort Lauderdale, FL cardiac imaging specialist Claudio Smuclovisky, MD, talks about the most common cause of death in the world - heart disease - and how technology at Holy Cross Hospital in South Florida can detect cardiovascular disease years before it is detectable by traditional tests and screenings. Cardiac CT using our 256 slice CT scanner provides detailed 3D images of the heart, its vessels, involves 90% less radiation than nuclear stress testing, and the images are acquired rapidly - within two heart beats.
Holy Cross offers Cardiac CT for  the self-pay rate of $495, and Calcium scoring for $75 (including the Radiologist's reading fee). A prescription is required. The CT is covered by most insurances.

Calcium scoring is a non-invasive way of obtaining information about the presence, location and extent of calcified plaque in the coronary arteries—the vessels that supply oxygen-containing blood to the heart muscle.

Talk to your doctor about the importance fo cardiac screenings.

To make an appointment for your cardiac screening at the Holy Cross Harry T. Mangurian, Jr. Diagnostic Imaging Center, call 954-202-0277.
