The Mobile Health program was created to bring healthcare to communities that lack access to it. The 33-foot vehichle is outfitted with two patient interview and screening rooms, one exam room and a client waiting area with a monitor to deliver educational messages. In addition, there is accommodation for on-board laboratory services. The vehicle also allows for on-board screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, HIV rapid testing and physical exams.
Access to primary and preventive healthcare is an overwhelming issue for many of our community members, especially those who are homeless, undocumented, migrant workers and those who are working but ineligible for health benefits. The Mobile Health program – with our other Community Outreach programs – attempts to decrease these challenges and link individuals to care.
